Healthy Kids
May 14, 2008
My name is Robin. I have 3 small children. 7, 6, and 3. I first was introduced to Shaklee after I got married. Our first pregnancy and then a miscarriage motivated me to take my vitamins more regularly. I wanted to get my body healthier and ready for child bearing. My husband was even taking them as well.
Three months later I was pregnant again. I took Shaklee to help with my morning sickness. I had a good pregnancy. My son, Stephen was born healthy. When he was about 18 months, I started him on lots of supplements that I blended up into his oatmeal. Then we switched to Shaklee chewable vitamins. When he was 2 ½, we noticed he wasn’t progressing as he should developmentally. When Stephen was 3 he showed signs of autism. Our doctors did all the blood work, MRI’s, and testing. We even entered him into a special preschool. That first year he progressed 20 months of development in only 8 months. I believe that he could have been worse had we not been on Shaklee products. I believe the Lord healed him. Stephen is now 7, in the 1st grade getting As and Bs. His only issue is Social.
We had another son, Andrew, when Stephen was 20 months. Andrew was tested and has had speech issues. This last year I have been concerned about Andrew being ADD, so I started him on a strong regiment of new vitamins. We also got rid of our standard household cleaners; we only use Shaklee’s non-toxic/biodegradable products called Get Clean. I can see a difference in his behavior. I am determined to find something that helps him focus in school without medication.
One thing I am very thankful, Shaklee helped us all avoid getting sick. My kids didn’t have any ear infections. Even in preschool, they rarely got sick.
Sara is our third child. She is our little princess. She has not had any developmental issues at all. She actually is above her age level. When she was 18months old, she did have a case of Respiratory Airway Disease. It is like pre-asthma. I immediately started her on more supplements. She has not had episode like that since. I am so thankful to God for Shaklee.
Vitamins

When I was a kid I can remember hating to take vitamins. You know what else I hated!? Drinking my parents vegetable juice. Not V8. Not a V8 nock-off. This was vegetables from our frig mashed down into a juicing machine. Out of one end of the machine the “guts”, some people refer to as pulp, would ooz out and on the other end you get the juice. It smelled like . . . well, let’s just say I’ve smelled better farts. We drank this everyday. Read more
Health Products

“How are you?” Most people will say that the feel “fine”. Most of us try to use health products so we can lose weight or make our doctor happy.
But what the heck are “health products” anyway? I can remember when we were all told not to eat eggs because they were too high in cholesterol. Doctors don’t say that anymore but there are a lot of people who didn’t get the update and they are still buying Egg Beaters. Reading the box of Egg Beaters you’d think that their artificial product is better than the original - ‘the incredible, edible egg’ (remember that ad from the 1980’s?). In reality, tests done on lab rats show that baby rats who eat nothing but Egg Beaters do not grow and eventually die. While the lucky rats chosen for the real egg test were fed only REAL eggs - they grew up healthy and moved on to live the life of a lab rat . . . probably to reproduce more rats.
Health And Wellness through Shaklee

Susie Strayer is new to our Insider group. I asked her to send me an e-mail, telling me why she joined Shaklee as a distributor. This is what she wrote:
I started to use Cinch when I began a new job and it was clear that there was no time for a regular sit down lunch. A couple of months later I went to the store to buy shorts, and as I have done in the past I just pick up four pairs in the size I was used to wearing. When I got home and went to wear them they fell off of me! I lost 10lbs and 2 dress sizes without trying. WOW!
Since I take care of sick children, I am exposed to all the infections they have. I had 3 infections in less than 3 months. I decided to try nutriferon. I cruised through the infections that my kids got. I did just have a cold and I can look back and see that I wasn’t taking the precautions that I should have with hand washing etc. But the good news is that it was the shortest cold I ever had!! So my immune system in protecting me and when I am foolish and don’t do the wise things it works good to get me through the infection quickly. Yea NUTRIFERON!!

Exercise

You just gotta get up and get outside. Move your body. On this day we decided to take a hike. We loaded up
the kids - even grandma (71 years old) - and the dog. A short distance from our house there are trails. Mostly used by hunters and boy scouts. Grandma wore her orange shirt so the hunters would not mistake her for a deer or a turkey or a bear. HA! Not really. . . we didn’t tell her about the hunters.
We went about 5 miles. Who knows how long it took; we weren’t keeping track. Sure wish I knew how many calories I were used - beer calories from the night before I was hoping to burn . . . the problem was there was more COLD beer waiting for me after the hike; we live life to the fullest.
Let me introduce my mother-in-law: Joan. And next to her our lovely daughter: Jessica.
Joan’s health has blown me away. Her mom, Helen, is 96 and the only medication she takes is a water pill and something for her thyroid (even that she only started taking when she was 94).
Little Jessica can only hope that some of those good jeans get passed down to her. Funny! Makes me think of how Jessica worked so hard learning to swallow her vitamins without gaging. jessica-takes-her-vitamins
